The staff and children in Durrow NS really embraced Friendship Week. Apart from raising an amazing 376euro fro Amnesty International the children also shared some beautiful and very meaningful messages on our school friendship tree. Some of these messages were: "Love is for everyone." "Be honest with your friends." "Treat your friends nicely, listen to their opinions and respect their choices." "Be kind to everyone." The children also created some beautiful art work for our school display boards. We also gave the children some time to just play games with some friends.....it's the simple things in life that can sometimes mean the most. Well done Durrow NS, your kindness knows no end! Darragh did himself and Durrow school very proud at the Student Enterprise Awards in the Tullamore Court Hotel on April 2nd. He received a framed Certificate of Achievement, a €50 voucher and a gift pack. Darragh proudly spoke about his thriving business to anyone who stopped to chat. He was also given plenty of compliments on his stand and his eye catching displays. Darragh showed real entrepreneurial spirit on the day and sold 60 eggs and a huge batch of homemade buns. What better way for people to sample the produce! Well done Darragh, we're all very proud. |
