On Thursday, May 5th Jacqueline Wilson visited Dublin, and gave a talk to almost 1000 fans in the RDS, as part of the International Literature Festival.
We, Rose and Ada from 3rd class, traveled to Dublin to hear her speak. The talk was mainly to celebrate the publication of her 104th book, "Rent a Bridesmaid". She told us all about her history, such as when she was young she loved writing, and told everybody she was going to be a writer. Nobody believed her but look where she is now, a writer! It was very interesting when she spoke about her teacher in primary school who thought her stories were so good he brought her up to read them out for the class. This made Jacqueline Wilson feel very proud. Other teachers weren't as nice and for sure she didn't have as good a school as Durrow NS. She particularly didn't like maths. Jacqueline Wilson told us that after writing her 100th book, she had to write the next one quickly, because she had said that she would keel over after her 100th book. Jacqueline Wilson was very nice, and we really enjoyed listening to her speak. Ada and Rose (3rd class) |
