On Friday we held a pancake party to raise funds for The National Children's Hospital, Tallaght. 5th class made up the pancake batter and Ms. Cashin was on cooking duties for the day. Everyone was very excited about the pancakes especially when we could smell them all over the school. We are very thankful to Ms. Cashin who did an incredibly job, making nearly 250 pancakes!! Thanks to all who contributed and we raised over €225. To learn more about this great fundraiser please visit www.pancakeparty.ie
Congratulations to our 3rd and 4th class students who represented the school in the Junior Tullamore Credit Union quiz. The team were busy the last few weeks preparing for the quiz and did us very proud by finishing 3rd on the night.
1916 : 100 years on and the children are reading up on these brave Irish men and women . We have been very lucky . Saoirse Murtagh's Dad sent in some interesting books on the 1916 Rising . One particular book , "The Irish Year Book" dating from 1909 had an advert at the back from Tom Clarke , tobacconist & Stationer 55 Amiens Street Dublin . Second class thoroughly enjoyed these books , the PowerPoint presentations and discussions afterwards .
