We are the 5th class members of the ICT committee. We just want to let you know about what we learned in coding this week. We were introduced to the the ++ operator and a few other things. Here are a few examples of what we learned about this week. Well done to Fifth Class who have begun learning touch typing. Thanks to members of the I.C.T. Committee who recorded some of this work. We are learning how to use graphic design to create Christmas cards.
We are also now in involved in updating the school website. I hope you enjoy our card, wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas! We are applying for our third Green Schools flag, the water flag.
Here are a few things we have done and what we are going to do for it: We had a day called 'Water Wednesday' where all of the children dressed in blue, it was really fun! In correspondence with Active Schools week, the children had a 'Walk for Water'.We all walked around the school yard a number of times carrying water to signify how lucky we are to have access to fresh, drinkable water. The Green Schools committee have ordered 'Hippo' bags which will be placed in the toilet cisterns. They will reduce the amount of water being wasted after each flush. We had a Free-Dress Day and we raised enough money to buy several wells for people less fortunate who don't have access to clean water in Africa via Trocaire. |
