School History
Scoil Naomh Colmcille, in some form or other, has played a role in the preservation of faith and folklore since the time Saint Colmcille established his church here in the 6th Century.
Laterally, as Durrow developed, pupil numbers increased apace. In recent years the school has grown to an 8 mainstream class settings, 1 special class setting, an administrative principal, 4 special education teachers, 4 special needs assistants, secretary and attending maintenance staff.
Christian traditions and an appreciation for Irish music, culture and games influence our activities.
The school has traditionally been associated with solid academic standards and maintaining such standards in a caring and happy environment will be a goal for the future.
